Preparing your home for sale or let can be full of hard decisions and knowing what to keep and what to take to charity shops can be tough. On top of that, it can be time consuming. In the third of our guest blog series, Claire and SJ from Happy Balance are offering their top tips for preparing your house for sale or let:

Think – Which items do you use on a daily or weekly basis? Pack away or take to charity shops any items that aren’t essential.

Time – Packing away or de-cluttering your home takes more time than you think. Give yourselves plenty of time to create that all important ‘space’ for the buyers to see.

Blank canvas – Ultimately you want someone to ‘see’ themselves living in your home. Clear away as many personal items as you can such as family photos and ornaments.

Key phrases – Think about all of the buzz words that your estate agent will use when advertising your home for sale such as ‘light and airy’, ‘spacious’ and ‘period features’. Make sure that these are easy for the potential buyers to see. First impressions count

Take the stress out of selling your home by calling in additional pairs of hands to help. Happy Balance are a team of two local ladies who work sensitively alongside you to help prepare your home for sale or can help you organise items for packing. Claire and SJ can also help to take things away to the refuse site or to local charity shops.
